Why We Built BonusVoice

It started with our own conversations
At BonusKI, we conduct audits, consulting sessions and workshops. We wanted to revisit what people said, record decisions and turn discussions into tasks.
Our workflow called for editing recordings afterwards and being able to trace the processing of conversation content within the EU. BonusVoice began as an internal tool at Bonus Service BS GmbH.
Our requirements for BonusVoice
We focused on storing recordings in Germany, AI processing in the EU and follow-up work in a shared workspace: editing transcripts, assigning speakers, checking summaries and recording action items.
Other providers support different workflows. Some offer live notes, meeting bots or local processing. Our product decision does not establish a general judgment about their quality or privacy practices. Our comparison overview in German describes specific differences with provider sources.
How we process conversation content
BonusVoice stores audio, transcripts and summaries with Hetzner in Germany. Mistral AI performs the AI processing in the EU. The DPA and subprocessor list document this workflow.
These statements concern conversation content. Stripe payments and optional Google sign-in are separate data flows that may involve third countries. The privacy policy explains them.
The infrastructure does not replace an assessment of whether you may record, process or share a conversation. This is particularly relevant to confidential client, employment and health data.
Results still need review
A transcript can misidentify technical terms or speakers. A summary can omit important qualifications. Checking results against the recording is therefore part of the follow-up process.
Masking names alone does not automatically make a transcript anonymous: its content and context can still identify people. Before sharing externally, review the information it contains and who may receive it.
